FAQ about Scientific European

1)  An overview of Scientific European

Scientific European is an open access popular science magazine reporting significant advances in science to general audience. It publishes latest in science, research news, updates on ongoing research projects, fresh insight or perspective or commentary. The idea is to connect science to society. The team identify relevant original research articles published in reputed peer reviewed journals in the recent months and present the breakthrough discoveries in a simple language. Thus, this platform aids in disseminating the scientific information in a manner that is easily accessible and comprehensible to general audiences worldwide in all languages, in all geographies.

The aim is to propagate latest scientific knowledge to general people, particularly to the learners to popularise science and to stimulate young minds intellectually. Science is perhaps the most significant common “thread” that unifies human societies ridden with ideological and political fault lines. Our lives and physical systems are largely based on science and technology. Human development, prosperity and wellbeing of a society is critically dependant on its achievements in scientific research and innovation. Hence the imperative of inspiring young minds for future engagements in science that Scientific European aims to address.

Scientific European is NOT a peer-reviewed journal.

2)  Who would be most interested in Scientific European?

Scientifically minded general people, young learners aspiring for a career in science, scientists, academics, researchers, universities and research organisations wishing to disseminate their research to the masses, and science and technology industries wishing to spread awareness about their products and services will be most interested in Scientific European.

3)  What are USPs of Scientific European?

Every article published in Scientific European has a list of references and sources with clickable links to the original research/sources. This helps verify facts and information. More importantly, this enables an interested reader to navigate directly to cited research papers/sources simply by clicking the links provided.

The other outstanding point, perhaps first time in history, is application of AI-based tool to provide high quality, neural translations of articles in all languages covering entire humanity. This is truly empowering given about 83% of world population is non-English speaker and 95% of English speakers are non-native English speakers. As general population is the ultimate source of researchers, it is important to provide good quality translations to reduce language barriers faced by ‘non-English speakers’ and ‘non-native English speakers’. Therefore, for benefits and convenience of learners and readers, Scientific European uses AI-based tool to provide high quality translations of articles in all languages.

Translations, when read with original article in English, may make comprehension and appreciation of the idea easy.

Further, Scientific European is a free access magazine; all articles and issues including the current one is freely available to everyone on the website.

In order to inspire the young minds for a career in science and to help bridge the knowledge gap between the scientist and the common man, Scientific European encourages subject matter experts (SME’s) to contribute articles about their works and about significant developments in science and technology written in a manner that a common man can comprehend. This opportunity to the scientific community comes free of cost to the either side. The scientists can share knowledge about their research and any current happenings in the field, and in doing so, gain recognition and adulation, when their work is understood and appreciated by the general audience. The appreciation and admiration coming from the society may boost esteem of a scientist, who in turn, will encourage more youngsters to develop a career in science, leading to the benefit of mankind.

4)   What is History of Scientific European?

Publication of “Scientific European” as a serial magazine in print and online format began in 2017 from United Kingdom. The first issue appeared in January 2018.

‘Scientific European’ is not related to any other similar publication.

5)   What is the present and the long-term future?

Science knows no boundaries and geographies. Scientific European caters to science dissemination need of entire humanity cutting across political and linguistic boundaries. Because scientific advancement is at the core of development and prosperity of people, Scientific European will work resolutely and enthusiastically to disseminate science everywhere through world wide web in all languages.
